"Rumors persist that The California Trio has come into possession of the Rivoli "Little Maestro". Considered by some to be the Holy Grail of accordions, the instrument was reportedly last seen in the late 1940's. Details on how the famous instrument came into The Trio's possession were unavailable at press time. A Trio spokesperson stated that, if indeed the group had the "Little Maestro", it had no immediate plans to incorporate the instrument into its act. The spokesperson further indicated that if indeed the group had the famed instrument it would not be intimidated by prevailing "Play an Accordion, Go to Jail" sentiment."

"In late January, vandals broke into the Seattle warehouse where the Rivoli "Little Maestro", generally considered to be the Holy Grail of accordions, had been sequestered since its acquisition by The California Trio. The rare and coveted instrument suffered a broken strap but otherwise is apparently unscathed. A silent alarm alerted authorities but the vandals managed to escape just as police arrived. The instrument had long been rumored to be in the Seattle area but until the break-in that had not been confirmed. The "Little Maestro" has been removed to an undisclosed location and accordion restorationists have already been commissioned to restore the instrument to its original condition. A passerby recalls seeing a fleeing van with the long outlawed "Play an Accordion, Go to Jail" bumper sticker but the vehicle had not been located as of press time. The police investigation is ongoing and authorities are soliciting any information that might lead to the capture of the criminals. The California Trio was unavailable for comment."

"Restoration of the Rivoli "Little Maestro", generally acknowledged to be the Holy Grail of accordions, has been completed. Readers will recall that the famous instrument, stored in a Seattle warehouse by The California Trio, had been damaged by vandals late last year. Renowned accordion restorationist Christer Fiege Davidicus completed the delicate task in late April. He had agreed to waive his usual substantial fee for an opportunity to work on the "Little Maestro". Fiege Davidicus commented, "How you say... it was honor of life to work on "Little Maestro"... always remember..." Now heavily insured, the accordion is under even tighter security at an undisclosed location. Rumors persist that The Trio will debut the instrument later this year."
